Kashmir Solidarity Day at CEWRE UET Lahore August, 05 2019
The Centre of Excellence in Water Resource Engineering, UET Lahore has observed the Kashmir
Solidarity Day on August 05, 2019 (Monday), with a pledge to continue extending all possible support
to the people of Indian-held Kashmir, who have been struggling for their legitimate right of self determination more than seven decades.
The day has been observed all over Pakistan at a time when Indian atrocities in held Kashmir and LOC
have reached a new level of oppression and human rights violations, to suppress the indigenous freedom
movement against the subjugating forces.
The faculty members, staff and students of the Center gathered in seminar hall of the CEWRE to show
solidarity with oppressed Kashmiri brethren. After Tilawat-e-Quran and National Anthem, one-minute
silence was observed at 10.00 am to pay homage to the martyrs of the liberation struggle of occupied
Kashmir. Later Prof. Dr. Noor M Khan, Director CEWRE highlighted the significance of Kashmir for
Muslims and Pakistanis, and renewed the resolve that Pakistanis will stand shoulder to shoulder with
Kashmiris in their struggle to get their democratic right of self determination. On same day in afternoon,
CEWRE faculty, staff and students also participated in a campus-wide walk at main campus of UET,
under the leadership of worthy Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Mansoor Sarwar, to express the feelings for
Kashmir and to protest against Indian atrocities.
