Prof. Dr. Atiq ur Rehman Tariq, Director CEWRE got his PhD from TU Delft, Netherlands (World’s Second Top Rank University in Civil and Structural Engineering). He has extensive experience in teaching, research, and leadership in Pakistan, Europe, Asia, and Australia. He played a major role to establish the Civil Engineering Departments at COMSATS Abbottabad and CUST Islamabad. He was one of the recognized experts who played a role in obtaining PEC’s Washington Award member status by introducing industry-oriented Outcome-based education through complex engineering problems at the national level. Before joining the Centre, he played an important role in Victoria University’s transition to a block mode of instruction. He achieved teaching excellence and was named the best teacher at Victoria University’s College of Engineering and Science in 2021. He has an outstanding HEC-recognized research record that includes approximately 80 top quality research journal papers (mostly Scopus Q1) and serving as an editor/invited editor of six journals/special issues. His undergraduate students have published ten Q1/Q2 journal papers as a result of his teaching and motivating abilities. He has also executed mega infrastructure projects within Pakistan and abroad as technical expert and/or lead consultant.
